I’m Sammy the chef owner of Hillen’s Kitchen Newbury, we aim to create a personal dining experience with ever changing menus for our dinner nights (supper clubs), we also do general catering that would include corporate business lunches to your offices of Newbury & surrounding area, Weddings for the big day and also private dinner bookings in the comfort of your own home or rental for that special occasion or long awaited get together.

It all first started out at 17 years old when I decided to attend culinary college at Basingstoke (BCOT college), I found my passion for cooking there.

I then ventured out to gastro pubs for years which was previously named The Yew Tree inn located in Highclere which gave me more confidence in my cooking.

To Michelin starred restaurants that included “The Woodspeen” in Newbury & “The Blackbird” in Bagnor for over 5 years to refine my cookery skills and knowledge and a complete understanding from butchery skills to bread making.

I appeared on MasterChef the Professionals on BBC ONE finishing as a semi finalist and it gave me a good exposure to decide on setting up my first business of being a private chef and cooking what I want and creating bespoke menus for my clients and building a great clientele throughout the 5 years of being in business.
